Industrial Vocational Training Programs

Flender is synonymous for high product quality. This is thanks to our class-leading manufacture  and assembly in our plants. To ensure this quality in future, we rely on well-trained employees, especially in the workshops. For this reason, industrial training has always enjoyed a high priority at our company. This is reflected, among other things, in the machinery of the Flender Academy, where we use state-of-the-art 3D full-synchronous milling and turning machines exclusively for the training of our junior staff.

CUTTING MACHINE
OPERATOR (M/F/D)

Your machining technique is cutting, i.e. the removal of the material from the workpiece, for example by turning, milling or grinding. During your training, you will learn manual and mechanical machining of workpieces, such as turning and milling on conventional or CNC-controlled machines. We ensure the quality of your training by using the latest machines (3D machining), which we use exclusively for Flender trainees. You will manufacture components, analyze the technical feasibility of incoming orders and select the appropriate machining process, which includes turning systems, automatic turning systems, milling systems and grinding systems.

At your future workplace, you will manufacture components, assemblies and prototypes of components using conventional and CNC machine tools. This also includes programming and operating the machine tools and performing service work. As the core of the company, you will create important added value for Flender in manufacturing.

Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering
+ Machining Operator (m/f/x)

Do you like to get stuck in and are you interested in design, automation and technology? 
This dual study program prepares you for a very innovative task in a production-related environment. You will machine workpieces such as shafts and gears conventionally and with the help of CNC-controlled machines. With a penchant for technology, mathematics, physics and programming, you will master the dual study program. During your apprenticeship, you will learn how to manually and mechanically machine workpieces, such as turning and milling on conventional or CNC-controlled machines. In parts production, you will analyze the technical feasibility of incoming orders and select the appropriate machining process, which includes turning systems, milling systems and grinding systems. After completing your industrial training, you will spend your semesters getting to know technological departments that deal with robotics and process automation, among other things. After completing your studies, you will be ideally equipped to drive innovative topics forward as a production engineer (m/f/x). This dual study program is a good alternative to regular studies. It can serve as a basis for a master's degree. If you perform very well, it is common for you to complete a full-time part-time degree with us following the dual study program.

Industrial
mechanic

You want to understand how machines work? You put things into practice instead of discussing them for a long time? Industrial mechanics (m/f/d) work at Flender wherever the assembly, maintenance and monitoring of technical systems is involved. Assembling, rebuilding and commissioning gearboxes or testing, maintaining and repairing production machines, measuring equipment, testing devices, mechanical components and even electrical devices and equipment - all this is part of your job. 
Later, you will work in the areas of maintenance, toolmaking, assembly, or quality assurance. For example, you will repair production equipment, process a wide variety of metals and plastics, monitor project processes and ensure the quality of the products. 
The possibilities for employment, as well as the opportunities for further training and promotion, are diverse at Flender.

MECHATRONICS
TECHNICIAN

The training program will help you to develop an integral understanding of CNC machines – not just their operation, but also their construction and function. Later on you will work on the assembly of gear units and couplings, in maintenance and at the test rig.
At the test rig you will test the function and durability of gear units before they are supplied to the customer. You will be involved in the maintenance of complex systems with mechanical, electrical and IT components.
Mechatronics technicians (m/f/x) are all-rounders who understand the interior workings of these kinds of systems.

WAREHOUSE
LOGISTICS SPECIALIST

Warehouse logistics specialists at Flender are assigned to a wide variety of activities. You aren’t just responsible for goods receipt, storage and issue, but also for inspecting the quality of the goods. Other areas of your work include order picking, packing and processing.
Even during the training program you will be assigned to both commercial and industrial activities, trained as a hazardous goods expert (m/f/x) and entrusted with ensuring that the products are delivered to the customer without a problem. Later on you will be able to work in various company departments, such as warehouse logistics, shipment or incoming goods inspection.

COATING TECHNOLOGY
PROCESS MECHANIC

Are you looking for a job that’s never boring? Coating technology process mechanics program, operate and monitor machines that are used for the surface coating of metals and plastics. In the training program you learn about all the different techniques for applying paint, lacquer and polymers to various surfaces.

Automation Technology
Electronics Technician

Are you a person who enjoys tinkering with a strong interest in technical processes? Can you imagine taking care of the electrical automation systems for our machines? As automation technology electronics technician (m/f/x) you modify and upgrade complex automation systems. You assemble and install components, configure and program the systems, test them and put them into operation.

Material Tester (m/f/d) 

During your vocational training as a material tester (m/f/d) you will learn the art of thermal and thermochemical heat treatment of metals, in short: hardening. Parts of what you learn include preparing the materials, monitoring the hardening process and quality control.
Material testers (m/f/d) specializing in heat treatment technologies, control and monitor heat treatment processes such as the hardening or tempering of metallic workpieces. You test materials for their characteristics and participate in the development of materials with new or improved characteristics. You will monitor, control and ensure our high quality standards.
